Appraisal Services and Fees


American Historic Services will provide appraisal for single pieces or entire estates for insurance, tax or estate purposes. We can appraise all items in your collection, antique or contemporary. After more than 25 years, we offer a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience with almost all types of antiques and artworks. Thus with confidence we offer:
* Consultation for the sale of your antiquities.
* Consultation for the acquisition of investment grade antiques.


American Historic Services utilizes individual specialist in almost all categories of antique material culture including: fine art, jewelry, silver, glass, paintings, sculpture, coins, clocks, books, documents, pottery, furniture, musical instruments, and much more.

The Appraisal Process

Free Consultation 
When you contact American Historic Services by phone, email or by using the online appraisal form, we will evaluate your piece and advise on the best way to proceed. We can discuss the purpose of the evaluation and whether you require a written or verbal appraisal. If you decide to proceed, we will send you an invoice with the cost of the appraisal. 


Research & Valuation 

Once we have your permission to proceed we will begin the research process based on the materials you have provided us. Using our extensive library and expert contacts we will assess the value of your item/s. 

Documentation/Reporting 

If you have wish to receive a verbal evaluation we will contact you with the information on your item. If you elected to receive a written valuation, you will receive a report detailing our findings along with a fair market value for your piece/pieces. The amount of time required to complete the valuation will, of course, depends upon the item you have submitted and the nature of the appraisal. 
 

Fees

Free Consultations are provided prior to engaging any services.

Minimum appraisal fee is $25.00

Because every situation is different, appraisal fees will vary. The appraisal fee is determined by the amount of time spent during the examination and assessment and whether you are looking for a verbal or written appraisal.

When you have submitted your request for an appraisal you will receive an invoice for the cost of the appraisal. If you agree to the price, you simply pay for the service with the method of your choice.

Fees for the appraisal of large collections or estates will be determined during the initial free consultation.

Consultation fees for the sale or acquisition of property will be determined on a case-by-case basis during the initial free consultation.
